COVID-19 Update: Governor to Allow Non Emergency Medical Procedures

On April 23rd, 2020 Governor Brown held a press conference announcing that the delay of ‘non-urgent’ medical procedures (Executive Order 20-10) will be lifted on May 1st.  This will include dental and medical procedures, as long as a provider meets COVID-19 safety criteria.  The Governor made clear that the State will resume these procedures cautiously, and may need to slow down again should there be negative impacts.  There is still an urgent focus on ensuring adequate healthcare capacity for COVID-19, but for now procedures will be able to resume.
