IBEW Monthly Political Newsletter
Feb 09, 2021

Dear Sisters and Brothers:

At the beginning of a new presidential administration, the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (I.B.E.W.) has many reasons for optimism.  The country elected one of the most pro-union presidents in history, who seeks the counsel of the I.B.E.W.

Attached is a newsletter that details President Biden’s efforts to assist working families and I.B.E.W. members.  Specifically, in his first two weeks, he has nominated union member Marty Walsh as labor secretary; executed Day 1 executive orders to affirm the federal workers’ rights should be respected; and at the I.B.E.W.’s suggestion, created and filled a position at the U.S. Department of Energy with an I.B.E.W. member.

This will be a monthly electronic newsletter as it is critical that all I.B.E.W. members stay informed.

Lonnie R. Stephenson

International President
